Amarena Fabbri, Parma Ham and Gruyere Tart

50 g butter

90 g 00 flour

50 ml milk

1 egg +1 yolk

15 g gruyere

1 ½ slices of ham cut into little strips

7- 8 Fabbri Amarenas

1 teaspoon of baking powder for savory dishes

Salt and pepper, as needed

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C.

Grease and flour 3 mini cake tins (I used 3 cylindrical ones, and you can see the size in the photos). Melt the butter on a low flame, and when it has completely melted, add the egg and the egg yolk, the milk and the salt and pepper, and beat well using a hand whisk. Sieve the flour and baking powder into the butter and egg mixture and stir well. Add the rest of the ingredients, with the cheese first followed by the Parma Ham and then the Amarenas sliced in half. Pour the mixture into the mini cake tins, so they are 3/4 full.  Then bake at 180°C for 20 minutes, before lowering the temperature to 160°C for a further 30 minutes.

Serve at a lukewarm temperature.

Tip: When you put these in the oven, remember to leave enough space between each one, as they will triple in size!!!

As final touch you can add another legendary Amarena. Dust with sugar and enjoy!
