Mix the milk and vanilla essence in a glass. In a bowl, beat the butter until creamy with an electric whisk, and then gradually stir in the sugar. Add one egg at a time, and then gradually stir in the flour, milk and vanilla, a little at a time, until the mixture is smooth. Pour the mixture into cupcake cases and add 2 amarenas to each cupcake. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Leave to cool in the tin for a few minutes and then place the cupcakes on a baking rack and leave them to cool completely. Decorate as you wish with sugar paste.
