Castagnole with Amarena Fabbri


500 g 00 flour

Grated rind of 1 lemon

50 ml grappa

1 sachet of vanillin

1 sachet of baking powder

130 g sugar

4 eggs

100 g softened butter

For the decoration

Fabbri Amarena

Icing sugar (optional)

Peanut oil (for frying) 


20 - 60 minutes

Mix all the ingredients together until it is smooth and soft.  If necessary, add a little bit more flour.  Make the dough into little balls.  Fry in boiling hot oil and leave to cool.  Add a few teaspoons of Amarena syrup and some Fabbri Amarenas to add flavor.  If you wish, decorate the castagnole with a dusting of icing sugar.
